The psychological and legal aspects of drafting the Law of Ukraine “On the provision of psychological assistance to the population” are enlightened in the report. The speaker presented the results of the working group led by S.D. Maksymenko activity concerning the development of the draft law text. The theoretical and methodological bases are revealed, its relevance and expediency are substantiated, the draft law structure (relevant sections and articles) is presented. The first section provides a list of basic definitions, presents extended tasks of the Ukrainian legislation in the field of providing psychological assistance; the second section presents the types and forms of providing such assistance to the population, its principles, grounds for providing; the third section defines the rights and responsibilities of the recipients of an assistance, the rights and responsibilities of a psychologist; the fourth section contains information on licensing of psychologists, maintenance of a single register of specialists and means of assistance, standard of psychological assistance, etc.; the fifth section defines the status of the Psychologists Self-Government Organization, the control and supervision of psychological assistance activities; the sixth section regulates the procedure for appealing against decisions, actions related to the provision of psychological assistance and defines responsibility for violations of the legislation on psychological assistance; the seventh section contains final provisions defining the date of entry into force and regulating the actions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
