19982000年および20062007年の間不定期に小笠原諸島の父島および母島において河川およびダム湖のユスリカ相を調査した。3亜科17種のユスリカ成虫が採集された。このうち3種は小笠原初記録であり他に未記載種と思われる1種が採集された。本土の河川でしばしば優占するOrthocladius, Rheocricotopus, Paratrichocladius およびPolypedilumは今回の調査では全く採集されなかった。幼虫を室内飼育し7種の幼虫と成虫の対応がついた。このうち既往知見のあるGlyptotendipes tokunagai を除く6種については初めて幼虫の生息場所が明らかになった。小笠原固有種のうち多産種はすべて河川に生息していた。河川は小笠原ではもっとも普通に見られる水界で比較的安定であることからこれら固有種の個別の生息場所については緊急の保全措置は必要ないように思われた。むしろ乾燥化の進行に伴い陸水域全体の環境が悪化していくことが懸念された。
