Thank you to Dr. Kerfoot for being my " walking encyclopedia " , and for opening my mind to a different way of thinking. He has a passion for and brilliance in not only aquatic ecology, but in several other fields and aspects of life. I am indebted to Ryan Maki who is undoubtedly the reason I chose to pursue graduate school. He hired me as a seasonal at Voyageurs National Park while I was working on my bachelor's degree and has been a role model, mentor and friend for the past five years.
