The paper deals with the study of the variation of a series of areal annual precipitation sums in Bohemia and Moravia, and of mean annual discharge rates of the Elbe at Děčín and the Morava River at Moravský Ján. By means of the autocorrelation analysis, the spectral analysis according to Blackman and Tukey, the maximum entropy spectral analysis, the coherence analysis and the numerical band-pass filtering, statistically significant components of their variation are studied including the relationships of the variation of the two types of series.
