AA6061 alloys with different content of erbium were prepared by ingot-metallurgy method. The influences of erbium (Er) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of AA6061 alloy were investigated by optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis.
