Rubber – used in the recipe of tyre rubber – and its reclaim were studied with methods of gel permeation chromatography and pyrolytic IR spectroscopy. It was shown that during the running of tyres, the macromolecular structure of dufferent types of rubber undergoes minor changes, and the reclaim from amortized tyres is inferior in quality to the original rubber and has an increased molecular weight.
