In City Rodrigo is raised, the year 1479, a confraternity, in which, twelve secular confreres begged the Kings Catholics the concession of the royal estate that the Jews were occupying inside the enclosure walled of the locality, to install in the lot a hospital, which took as a specific purpose the attention of the sick poor, obtaining the royal privilege in 1492. The functioning of the hospital comes up to the present, governed by the Seventh statutes approved in 2003, and for a second internal regulations approved in 1990.
