Literary production was an achievement of women and the legitimation of female writing as a writing that is also capable of being part of the literary field is not a struggle overcome, authors are still less recognized and seen in textbooks and school libraries. Based on this, this research investigated the presence or absence of female authorship in literature lessons in state public schools in the Quixeramobim town, located in the Central backwoods of Ceara. The methodology used was the bibliographical and field survey, culminating in the application of 264 questionnaires. The data collection noticed that women writers are being read more, but there is still a significant disparity in the number of female and male authors read, as well as teachers have never stopped to think about the invisibility of women writers in textbooks, which reflects in the choice of texts used throughout the year. To discuss these issues, we dialogue with the voices-women of Regina Dalcastagne (2005), Virginia Woolf (2014), Zahide Lupinacci Muzart (2003), among other researchers and writers female.
