Neurons are prone to apoptosis after peripheral nerve damage and the effect of repair is not satisfactory yet, so it is important to find new molecular targets for treatment. Previous studies demonstrated that the downstream of AKT signalling pathway is highly related to neuro apoptosis and axon regeneration and this study showed that protein kinase N2, a kind of serine/threonine-protein kinase, could promote the phosphorylation levels of AKT and mTOR. However, whether protein kinase N2 plays an important role in peripheral nerve apoptosis and regeneration and its detailed molecular mechanisms is still unknown. In preliminary experiments it was observed that protein kinase N2 inhibited apoptosis and promoted the growth for PC12 cells. It was observed that AKT/mTOR signalling pathway is activated in expression of protein kinase N2 cells. It will provide theoretical evidence for the treatment of peripheral nerve damage.
