Most Indonesian people still do not realize that mental health is a very important thing to consider. Mental patients need psychosocial rehabilitation services in order to increase patient independence when they return to their families and environment. The purpose of this study is to explain the process of psychosocial rehabilitation as an effort to achieve independence for schizophrenic psychiatric patients at RSMM, Bogor. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the process of implementing psychosocial rehabilitation carried out by RSMM was divided into two namely non-vocational and vocational training. Psychosocial rehabilitation has an impact on patients with schizophrenia, which is an increase in personal and social functioning. Independence in social, emotional, intellectual and economic aspects and have skills. To support the recovery of mental patients with schizophrenia, it is suggested that there is family and community environment support.
