Abstrak : Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang uji aktivitas antimikroba ekstrak etanol dari beberapa tanaman paku terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 , Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, dan jamur Candida albicans ATCC 10231 . Secara empiris tanaman paku tersebut memiliki efek antimikroba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah paku laut, paku pedang, dan kelakai memiliki efek antimikroba. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi. Dari 500 g sampel segar diperoleh hasil rendemen daun paku laut sebesar 6,16% (b/b), paku pedang 2,24% (b/b), dan kelakai 3,14% (b/b). Uji aktivitas antimikroba dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar dengan konsentrasi 10% (v/v), 20% (v/v), dan 30% (b/v) menggunakan etanol destilat sebagai kontrol negatif, kloramfenikol dan ketokonazol sebagai kontrol positif. Dari uji aktivitas antimikroba yang telah dilakukan diperoleh zona hambat paling tinggi terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 pada konsentrasi 30% yaitu ekstrak daun paku laut (19,17 mm), kelakai (17,48 mm), dan paku pedang (15,22 mm). Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak etanol daun paku laut (Acrosthicum aureum L ) , paku pedang (Nephrolepis biserrata (Sw) Schott ) , dan kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm.f) Bedd ) mampu menghambat pertubuhan mikroba uji dengan kategori kuat. Kata Kunci : Paku, Antimikroba,Difusi Agar Abstract :A study on antimicrobial activities test of ethanol extract from leaf fern (Pteridophyta) against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, and Candida albicans ATCC 10231. Empirically fern have antimicrobial activity. The study aims to determine whetherAcrostichum aureum L, Nephrolepis biserrata (Sw) Schott, andStenochlaena palustris (Burm.f) Bedd have antimicrobial activity. The method of extraction used by maceration. The yield obtained from 500 grams of fresh samples rendement ofAcrostichum aureum 6.16% (w/w), Nephrolepis radicans, 2.24% (w/w) andStenochlaena palustris 3.14% (w/w). The antimicrobial activity test was showed by agar diffusion method with concentration of 10% (v/v), 20% (v/v), and 30% (w/v) using distillate ethanol as negative control, choramphenicol and ketokonazole as positive control. Antimicrobial activity test, the highest inhibitory zone of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 was obtained at 30% concentration of Acrostichum aureum (19.17 mm), Stenochlaena palustris (17.48 mm), and Nephrolepis radicans (15.22 mm). It was concluded by giving ethanol extract of leaf Acrostichum aureum, Nephrolepis radicans, andStenochlaena palustris capable of inhibiting strong of microbial involvement.  Keywords : Fern, Antimicrobial,Agar Diffusion
