The present study intends a discussion about the ethical-political dimension from the thought of Hans-Georg Gadamer in his philosophical hermeneutics. This reflection is based on the problem related to otherness and solidarity in the perspective of dialogue. The bibliographic study has its basic foundation in the works Truth and Method and his later writings, namely, The Heritage of Europe and Praise of Theory. The hermeneutics of Gadamer praxis poses the question of respect for the other as something essential in the present day so that one can achieve a citizenship consciousness that goes beyond the aspect of dialogue as a strategy of understanding the other.
