Review of procedures and data of interviews of 40 patients referred to the Gynecology Service of Hospital Municipal da Piedade, in the year of 2009 with diagnostic of breast cancer. The data were obtained though of patient record, as well as transcriptions of speeches of patients occurred in the psychological interviews. It employed a quantitative analysis for the objectives data and for some content speeches of patients it used qualitative analysis. As last considerations it was observe that: Half of these patients had indications for mastectomy. -The strong religiosity helped them in the faith, of the divine power. That positive perceptions of themselves as well as the existence of good marital and sexual relationships were factors that helpers in the support strength for fight for life.
