If the area is classified according to locational and topographical characteristics, Ulju-gun (type 1) located in the outskirts of the city, which has both urban and rural characteristics, Jung-gu has the largest population in the old city. (Type 2) It is divided into Nam-gu (Type 3), which is equipped with public transportation, pedestrian environment, public facilities, residential living facilities, residential area, and park green facilities. As a result of analyzing the factors of neighborhood environment by type, the difference is clear. In the Type 1 area, the elderly welfare facilities are the most established, and the satisfaction with residential convenience facilities and public facilities is high. Type 2 area is Jung-gu, which is located in the old city center. Despite having the most economically vulnerable class, there are few elderly welfare facilities, but it shows regional characteristics with high residents' satisfaction in public transportation and pedestrian transportation. Type 3 area includes Ulsan city's central business area, many welfare facilities for the elderly, and the highest level of residents' satisfaction with the neighboring environmental factors. This study derives implications for the city of Ulsan to establish an age-friendly urban policy considering the characteristics of the dwelling area where the elderly living alone are vulnerable.
