Commonly, intelligence is often called cleverness hence people with high intelligence are often called clever individuals or geniuses. In the education sector, intelligence is utilized to know the academic achievement of an individual. This study was aimed to determine the intelligence quotient (IQ) of students of science class XI at SMA Negeri 1 (senior high school) Manado. This was a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. There were 140 subjects in this study who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The results showed that 30 subjects were in the superior IQ score category (36%); 29 subjects in the above average IQ score category (35%); 22 subjects in the average IQ score category (27%); 2 subjects in the below average IQ score category (2%); and there was 1 deviative subject (1%). Conclusion: The intelligence quotient (IQ) of SMA Negeri 1 Manado students of science class XI was categorized as above average. Keywords: IQ, intelligence, students Abstrak: Secara umum inteligensi sering disebut kecerdasan, sehingga orang yang memiliki inteligensi tinggi sering disebut orang cerdas atau jenius. Dalam bidang pendidikan, kemampuan inteligensi dimanfaatkan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana prestasi belajar yang dapat dicapai oleh individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat intelegensi (IQ) pelajar kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Manado. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif dengan desain potong lintang. Subyek penelitian ialah 140 pelajar yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Alat tes inteligensi yang digunakan ialah Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM). Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa pada 140 pelajar SMA Negeri 1 Manado didapatkan skor IQ kategori superior 30 subyek (36%), kategori di atas rata-rata 29 subyek (35%), kategori rata-rata 22 subyek (27%), di bawah rata-rata 2 subyek (2%), dan 1 subyek defiatif (1%). Simpulan: Tingkat inteligensi (IQ) pelajar kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Manado termasuk dalam kategori di atas rata-rata. Kata Kunci: IQ, inteligensi, pelajar
