Cervicalgia is a major health problem and one of the causes of disability, limiting the performance of daily activities. Health centers provide alternative ischemic compression treatments. However, the efficacy of ischemic compression with stainless steel spheres has not been sufficiently proven. The objective was to determine the existence of the analgesic effect using ischemic compression with stainless steel spheres in patients with cervical disability. The steel balls were applied at the painful points in the cervical area, three times a week, continuously for 25 minutes per session to 50 patients. Patients with mild and moderate cervical disability were included. A difference of 5.7 points in the visual analogue scale was found between the average of the first evaluation (8.26) and the final one (2.56), this result being statistically significant (p <0.001).
