Soyben (Glycine max L. Merrill) is currently the main agricultural crop in the Pampa area and is the most important export product in Argentina. Soyben is affected by various diseases, which can reduce yield by 8-10% with a maximum of 30%. Among the various diseases affecting the cultivation of soybeans are the so-called End Cycle Diseases (ECD) that increases their intensity after the state of development R3-4. In March 2002, the Asian soybean rust (ASR) caused by the pathogen biotrophic Phakopsora pachyrhizi, was first detected in the province of Misiones, joining the ECD complex in Argentina, which by its distinctive features of easily spread and high sporulation, in less than 21 days comes to affect 90% of the crop and may reduce performance significantly, and becomes the most feared disease of soybean producers in the world. This thesis refers to the virulence of P. pachyrhizi in Argentina, by gathering uredinia and urediniospores populations of rust in different regions of the country, Cerro Azul (Misiones), Ledesma (Jujuy), Rosario (Santa Fe) and Pergamino (Buenos Aires) for the cycle 2011/2012. In order to determine pathogen virulence in Argentina were used 16 differential varieties (D.V.) having different soybean resistance genes, helping to identify the presence of virulence of P. pachyrhizi in Argentina. The results of this work have shown differing virulence of P. pachyrhizi between the four analyzed isolates of P. pachyrhizi. Various studies suggest that the Rpp5 locus which is in the D.V. Shiranui (PI 200526) is the main contributor of all characters of resistance and can be considered as the main factor for resistance to P. pachyrhizi. In this experience found difference in virulence of the isolates in P. pachyrhizi, between different provinces of Argentina, in 2012. None of Differential Varieties (VD) were resistant to all four isolates tested. The V.D. Shiranui (PI 200526) containing the introduced gene RPP5 susceptibility reaction to the isolation of Pergamino (Buenos Aires). A PI 594767 and PI 587855 unknown genes, resistant to all isolates tested earlier in the country, varieties were found to be susceptible to the isolation of Cerro Azul (Misiones) and VD PI 587855 also susceptible to isolation of Pergamino (Buenos Aires) in 2012.
