The aim of this article is to estimate the infl uence of the separation geotextile, placed in the upper zone of railroad subgrade, on the deformability of the subgrade. Vertical stresses in the subgrade of protective layer of diff erent thickness, due to the test and operational loads, were determined. The infl uence of the variations in two diff erent geotextiles’ thickness on the stiff ness measurements of railroad subgrade was examined. Practical conclusions were formulated on the basis of conducted analysis
