The aesthetic and functional rehabilitation in teeth with coronary destruction is always a challenge for dentistry. In cases of great loss of the dental structure, root retainers can be used to provide better support for rehabilitation of the unit. This article aims to review the literature on the aesthetic and functional rehabilitation with fiberglass pins, focusing on the indication of treatment with the same and its main characteristics and properties. The study is a literature review on the aesthetic and functional rehabilitation with fiberglass pins. The theoretical grounding was performed in the databases: SciELO, BVS, MEDLINE and Lilacs, using the terms: Fiberglass Pin, Dental Reconstruction, Intra-radicular Rehabilitation, isolated and interlaced using Boolean operators. The use of intra-radicular retainers and/or prosthetic parts associated with endodontic treatment can be an alternative to reinforce the remaining tooth, helping the mechanical and structural resistance. The fiberglass pins stand out because they have a dentin-like modulus of elasticity, good distribution of mechanical forces, biocompatibility, adequate mechanical properties, such as reduced working time, resistance to corrosivity and favorable aesthetics. The fiberglass pins have presented excellent results in the rehabilitation of den-tatic units with extensive coronary destruction.
