Among all life cycles, childhood includes a period of predisposition to illness and aggravation, consequently, the quality of life has a direct influence on growth and development, besides playing a fundamental role in infant morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study is to understand the challenges facing the health of the child from/in the street situation, associated to the nursing practice and the socio-political context in which they are inserted. It refers to an Integrative Literature Review, using as databases the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and PubMed. The Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) combined with Boolean operators were used: "Child Health" AND "Street Youth" AND "Nursing". After inclusion and exclusion criteria resulted in 08 documents. It was evident through this review that the problem involving all health care for children on and off the street has been restricted to the association with the use of licit and illicit drugs, as the main factors in which this population is subjected. However, in some articles they were also presented to the importance of the performance of nursing, as well as interventions and possible improvements. This review provided an enrichment of content on the subject, however presented the gap in the question of the quantity of studies on the problematic of the health of the child of/on the street and the domain of factors of risk restricted to licit and illicit drug use, as well as few proposals for effective interventions to alleviate the problem.
