Cell phones are intensely handled and these devices may be contaminated due to direct contact with surfaces and / or environments or by bodily secretions, which can act as reservoirs and spread infectious agents, posing a risk to patients, professionals and the community. The objective of this work was for researching the presence of pathogenic bacteria on cell surfaces of the health team of the Emergency Unit (UPA) and the Municipal Hospital of Teixeira de Freitas (HMTF), besides performing tests of susceptibility tests to antimicrobials (TSA). The swab was smeared on the surfaces of the health team's cell phones in different sectors of the UPA and the HMTF, packed in tubes containing BHI broth, transported to the UNEB Microbiology Laboratory, Campus X, for microbiological analyzes, and tests were carried out to identify staphylococci. ; enterobacteria and acinetobacter and TSA. All cell phones showed contamination by at least one bacterial group: Staphylococcus aureus CP; Staphylococcus CN; S. saprophyticus and S. epidermidis; Serratia marcenses, Serratia liquefaciens, Citrobacter freundii, Salmonela spp., Salmonella typhi and Acinetobacter lwoffii. Multidrug-resistant strains were found. Antimicrobials with more resistance indexes for staphylococci: erythromycin, clidamycin, penicillin. For enterobacteria: nitrofurantoin, chloramphenicol, cefazolin, sulfazotrim. For acinetobacter: amikacin, sulfazotrim, gentamicin, nalidixic acid.
