The search for the use of rapid testing to diagnose HIV consists of strategies for the enforcement the National Policy for Health Promotion in Brazil. As part of the coping actions agreed upon against the HIV epidemic, Brazil seeks to attain the 90-90-90 goal, which establishes that, until 2020, 90% of the HIV-positive individuals are diagnosed, expanding access to the HIV diagnosis. With the objective of verifying if the intervention actions are implemented so as to attain the 90-90-90 goal, an integrative literature review was conducted in the first semester of 2020, searching for articles that used evaluation procedures regarding the implementation of the rapid test for HIV diagnosis. The research was conducted by means of articles and scientific publications found in the Scielo, BVS (Lilacs, Medline), and PubMed databases, with a time interval from 2010 to July 2020, using the following descriptors: Avaliação em saúde (Health evaluation), Avaliação de programas (Program evaluation), HIV, Testagem (Testing). After a thorough selection in the integrative literature review, 09 articles related to the theme met the selection criteria and were used as a theoretical basis for the discussion of this study. It was concluded that the failures in the prevention of HIV vertical transmission, not using the ministerial protocols, and the limitations regarding the supplies such as physical structure and trained human resources, corroborate the challenges of implementing the rapid test for the diagnosis of the HIV infection in the health services.
