Análise de contaminação bacteriana associada à sondagem vesical de demora em um hospital público da região do Tapajós

In Brazil, hospital spending on hospital infections (HI) is notorious, which causes a serious public health problem. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is one of the HI that most affects hospital inpatients with a rate of 35-45% of cases. Thus, the present work is an analysis of bacterial contamination associated with delayed bladder catheterization in a public hospital in the Tapajós region. The objective of this study is to identify the presence of pathogenic microorganisms in the catheters of delayed bladder catheterization (SVD) in the clients of the Itaituba / Pará Municipal Hospital. The study is a descriptive and exploratory quantitative approach research, where urine samples were collected and questionnaires were applied to 30 patients admitted to the Medical and Surgical Clinic sectors. In this research it was possible to show that most of the patients came from the Medical Clinic sector, female and aged between 58 and 77 years. Regarding the analysis of urine samples from the probed patients, only 13.3% presented the presence of pathological microorganisms. Among patients 04 with positive nitrite results, 75% had culture for gram-negative bacteria and 25% for gram-positive bacteria. It was also evidenced that at least 100% used antibiotics. At the end it can be evidenced the existence of cases of bacterial contamination, where it is noticeable that the presence of other comorbidities, besides the catheter permanence time is also of great importance for the development of the pathology.
