In order to make the use of industrial waste as filler in polymeric composites feasible, composites containing marble and granite waste in the proportions of 10 % and 20 % in the 200 and 400 Meshs granulometries of the Tyler series have been manufactured using the hand lay up method associated with closed mould pressing. The polymeric matrix used was the isophthalic polyester resin together with the cobalt accelerator (1,5 % v/v) and the catalyst (1 % v/v). In which the morphological survey on the residue was performed by means of the scanning electron microscope and the tensile strength test (ASTM D3039) on composites. Based on the mechanical performance of composites, the proportion of 10 % RMG in the 400 Mesh grain size obtained an increase of approximately 73 % and the proportion of 10 % RMG in the 200 Mesh grain size showed the best traction performance with an increase of approximately 100 %, both in relation to the full matrix, which proves the Brazilian Journal of Development Braz. ISSN 2525-8761 71946 performance of the composite as an effective reinforcement in the matrix/load system, making it a viable alternative for use as load in composites for internal coating in general.
