ASSISTÊNCIA DE ENFERMAGEM AO PACIENTE COM INFARTO AGUDO DO MIOCÁRDIO EM UMA URGÊNCIA E EMERGÊNCIA: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA / NURSING CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION IN AN URGENCY AND EMERGENCY: EXPERIENCE REPORT

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI), or heart attack (AC), is the death of cells in a region of the heart muscle due to the formation of a clot that interrupts blood flow in a sudden and intense way. The main cause of AMI is atherosclerosis, a disease in which fatty plaques accumulate inside the coronary arteries, even blocking them. In most cases, infarction occurs when there is a rupture of one of these plaques, leading to the formation of a clot and interruption of blood flow (MINISTRY OF HEALTH, 2018). This study is descriptive in nature, an experience report, elaborated from the experience of the nursing team in working with a patient affected by AMI in an urgency and emergency of a public hospital in the countryside of Pará. Within this context, it is part of the nursing care to the individual with AMI: installation of oxygen therapy, puncture of peripheral venous access, monitoring of signs, ECG and administration of drugs such as nitrates. Thus, the nursing team must be prepared to assist cases of AMI in an urgency and emergency unit. Therefore, it is essential that the nurse has technical skills and knowledge about the pathology evidenced, considering that the time in this situation is essential for the patient.
