Aspectos relacionados à dificuldade do controle glicêmico em pacientes com Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 na Atenção Básica

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most prevalent disease and important cause of mortality in the general population. Despite mechanisms control being accessible to the entire population, from diagnosis to monitoring, is still very large percentage of patients without adequate glycemic control. This study aimed to identify which aspects are related to the difficulty of control in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are under treatment and monitoring by family health teams in a Basic Health Unit in the city of Itajaí / SC. The research used qualitative approaches to data collection conducted through individual interviews and semi-structured, with people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus in treatment and who can not control the glucose level. The data analysis was performed through the thematic content analysis technique, which emerged six categories: representation of the disease; feeding; physical activity; medicines; emotional factors; and doctor-patient relationship. The results show that the organization of care for people with diabetes mellitus, following the attributes of integrity, longitudinality and coordination of care, can interfere positively in self-care in the aspects that hinder glycemic control of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
