Lymphomas represent an important, complex and heterogeneous group of malignant proliferative disorders originating from lymphoid tissue cells. Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) is a rare type of cancer that arises from B lymphocytes and typically affects lymph nodes. The knowledge of the main types of neoplasms incident to a population brings light to the knowledge, contributing to the health strategies to be adopted, mainly in relation to the risk factors that may be associated, in favor of the improvement of quality of life. Objective: to evaluate the prevalence of Hodgkin's lymphomas in the population of Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro. Method: a retrospective study was carried out on 7,500 records of histopathological diagnoses belonging to the archive of the discipline of General Pathology of the UniFOA Course of Medicine, originating from the Anatomopathology Service of the extinct Hospital of the Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) in the city Volta Redonda Rio de Janeiro, between 1990 and 2000. Subsequently, the data were grouped separately by histopathological classification, based on the classification proposed by the World Health Organization (SWERDLOW et al., 2008). Demographic data such as gender and age of the patient were also used. Results: Among the 7,500 records analyzed, 0.06% (n = 5) of individuals with Hodgkin's lymphoma were found. The age ranged from 29 to 66 years, with an average of 46.6 years. There were 2 cases in the female gender (40%) and 3 in the male (60%), in a 1X1.5 ratio. Among the affected patients, we observed that 80% (n = 4) were leukoderma and 20% (n = 1) melanoderma. Conclusion: the prevalence was 0.06% in the study population.
