The woman takes on male roles including in crime. It aims to know the positive learning for women in prison. Qualitative, exploratory, empirical and documentary research with convicts for drug trafficking, in a Feminine Penitentiary. Content analysis was used and it was based on Elias, legislations and authors who discuss gender. Axis of the categories of analysis: The woman in conflict with the law, and subebooks: Learning acquired during the imprisonment; and Consequences and traces of imprisonment. It is concluded that, some inmates, seek to assign new meaning to the lived experiences through the conception of other paradigms.
