. The foreign body response results from persistent inflammatory stimuli which are mediated by the various cell lineages. The presence of inflammatory cells directly influences the behavior of Schwann cells (SC). Method. In this sense, we studied the interaction of the chronic inflammatory process and degenerative/regenerative processes in the nerve.
