Educação Ambiental: um caminho possível para a construção de um projeto societário sustentável?

This article has the intention to reflect on the ways to build a sustainable societal project through popular Environmental Education. This study is a bibliographical. The text provides a brief historical overview of the main problems and possible directions for the productive reorganization of capitalist society. We also present considerations of the current pandemic scenario, with contextualizing elements of the contemporary environmental and educational panorama. The final considerations, we venture to propose Popular Environmental Education. As a result, we understand that it is possible to achieve a sustainable society if, epistemologically, we build processes of Popular Environmental Education, based on Freire.
