Educação Ambiental para além do capital: um desafio do século XXI

The social, environmental and economic crisis in the current world, aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic, points to the limits of the capitalist development model. In addressing this issue, the inclusion of complexity theory in the scientific method and environmental education beyond capital are presented as potential transformative actions towards an effective and substantially sustainable society. This article analyzes the relationship between contemporary science and anthropic transformations in nature, in order to subsidize the production of multiple knowledge for environmental education in the 21st century, requiring profound changes in the course of the current model of society, thus avoiding the risk of extinction of planetary life.
