There are many preservation techniques that are used to ensure that the 14 changes (odor, color, and elasticity) in the characteristics of the animal or human bodies 15 after death are minimized in the field of anatomy. One of the most modern anatomic 16 specimen preparation methods is the plastination technique. Therefore, primary 17 plastination stages were applied to the muscle tissue in this study. The aim of the current 18 study is to present color changes in muscle tissue quantitatively by using a colorimeter 19 device in every stage of the standard silicone plastination technique until the last product 20 is obtained. Color analyses were performed on the muscle tissue after each stage of the 21 plastination. Throughout the whole process, it was observed that the stage when the value 22 of color change from green to red in the product was the closest to the fresh tissue was 23 the 1 acetone bath. The value of color change from blue to yellow was closest to the 24 fresh tissue at the gas curing and hardening stage. Furthermore, closest values to the fresh 25 tissue were recorded after the impregnation stage when the variations in plastinates were 26 evaluated in terms of brightness. Color changes in plastinates, which have been described 27 as close to the natural color up to today, were determined through statistical data in this 28 study. Moreover, as a result of this dissertation, it was asserted that colorimeter can be 29 effectively used in the field of anatomy due to the advantages it holds. 30
