The changes inherent to postmodern society drive the transformation of the relationship between space and time as they are imagined in a person’s image of the world. The category of time here clearly comes to the forefront, and the factor of time itself acquires an increasingly important role in life. Changes in the way space and time interact in one's own life, which is especially characteristic of the experience of modern students, are not often sufficiently reflected upon by the person, which can have a negative impact on their effectiveness in designing their future and on the productivity of their further self-realisation. These social changes provide a framework for the study of systemic chronotopical characteristics of university students’ image of the world and its psychological determinants, which is important for subsequent development of a psycho-pedagogical support model for effectively nurturing it. The aim of the study is to identify and operationalise the chronotopical features of students’ image of the world whichare determined by both external and internal factors of the life of the subject. The study is based on the idea of the chronotope as an inseparable unity of time and space both in the physical world and in the world of human culture, which allows us to of understand how a person functions both in the physical space and time of a specific socio-cultural community. In this regard, the system of chronotopical characteristics that makes up students’ image of the world takes into account a set of different objective and subjective spatial, temporal and value-semantic components. The result of this theoretical research is a comprehensive structured model of the chronotopical features of students’ image of the world that complements the idea of individual development as the product of the environment, and allows one to broaden the context of psycho-pedagogical support for the extension of the semantic boundaries of its subjective reality.
