Lead-halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) exhibit unique optoelectronicproperties, many of which originate from a purported bright-triplet excitonfine-structure. A major impediment to measuring this fine-structure isinhomogeneous spectral broadening, which has limited most experimental studiesto single-nanocrystal spectroscopies. It is shown here that thelinearly-polarized single-particle selection rules in PNCs are preserved innonlinear spectroscopies of randomly-oriented ensembles. Simulationsincorporating rotational-averaging demonstrate that techniques such astransient absorption and two-dimensional coherent spectroscopy are capable ofresolving exciton fine-structure in PNCs, even in the presence of inhomogeneousbroadening and orientation disorder.
