espanolEl siguiente trabajo tuvo como objetivos implementarun programa psicoeducativo familiar en el tratamientodel adulto mayor (AM) con diabetes tipo 2 (DM2), atraves de un diseno metodologico de caso clinico conreplica, con pre y post test, se aplico a 5 familias, losresultados muestran que hubo modificaciones en losindicadores metabolicos, calidad de vida, autoeficacia–con relacion a la linea base inicial– pero no asi en lavariable de la mejor configuracion familiar y desgastedel cuidador, que repercutiera en un cuidado masadecuado del AM, por lo que se requiere en futurasaplicaciones observar su impacto otorgandole un ran-go de tiempo mas extenso en el seguimiento, para laverificacion de su eficacia asi como para garantizar laconsecucion del proceso cognitivo en el cual se basa lateoria del aprendizaje significativo de Ausubel. EnglishThe aim of this study was to implement a familypsychoeducational program in the treatment of olderadults with type 2 diabetes (DM2), through a clinicalcase method design with replication, with pre and post-test, applied to 5 families, the results show that therewere modifications in the metabolic indicators, qualityof life, self-efficacy –in relation to the initial baseline–but not in the variable of the best family configurationand the burned out caregiver, that would haverepercussions in a care more adequate in the elderlypeople, so that in future applications it is necessary toobserve its impact, granting a longer time range in themonitoring, for the verification of its effectiveness aswell as to guarantee the achievement of the cognitiveprocess on which the Significant learning theory ofAusubel.
