Magneto-optical thin films with composition Tb-Fe-Co-Cr are coated on AI foil, Co-base and Fe-base amorphous ribbons. The thickness of M-O thin film is in the range from 200nm to 1000nm, which is sandwiched between two AlN layers with thickness 100nm to prevent it from oxidation. The Kerr hysteresis loops of M-O films were measured with wavelength from 500nm to 860nm, and the peak applied field was. 9kOe. The Kerr rotation angles of M-O films deposited on Co-base and Fe-base amorphous ribbons are improved by a factor of 2.6 and 2.86 respectively at wavelength 780nm. The Kerr angles of M-O films are enhanced markedly by either Co-base or Fe-base amorphous ribbons.
