は じ め に シ リコー ン ゴムは合成 ゴムのなかでもと くに耐水性, 耐熱性,耐 老 化性な どに優れているため,各 方面 に使用 されてお り,食 品関係においても各種パ ッキ ング,乳 首 な どに広 く用い られてい る.シ リコーンゴム製品を医療 関係に使用す る際の安全性に関す る報告はい くつかみ ら れる1)~3)が食品関係に使用す るものについて検討 した報 告 は見 られない. さきに,種 々の ゴム製 品について合成樹 脂製器具お よ び容器包装 の規格試験法4)(以 下厚生省告示第434号 の 試験法 とい う)を 準 用 して試験 した際,シ リコーンゴム 製 品は他 の材質の もの と比べ て過 マンガ ン酸 カ リウム消 費量 および蒸発残 留物 で示 され る溶出物 の測定値が低 い ことを明 らかに した5).し か し,こ の試験法には規定 さ れていない水浸 出液 の液性 が対照水 に比べて酸性を呈す るもののある ことを認めた.そ こで この酸性を呈する溶 出物を確認す る目的で種 々検討 した結果,シ リコー ンゴ ムの加硫剤 として使用 され た有機過酸化物 の分解生成物 とみ られ る2, 4-ジ クロル安息香酸(DCBA)お よび安 息 香酸(BA)を 検出 した.ま た,こ れ らの溶出量な らびに 前者の急性毒性について検討 を行 った.さ らに,DCBA の除去法 について も若干 の検討を行 ったので これ らの結
