This research is motivated by the demands of the 2013 curriculum which emphasizes that learning must involve students to be active, while the facts in the field still make the teacher the center of learning so that students 'creativity and skills are weak and students' mastery of concepts is low. Through the SETS learning model, it is expected to improve students' mastery of concepts. This research is a classroom action research towards students of class IX B MTs Negeri 1 Kuantan Singingi. The number of subjects in this study were 29 students. The instruments used were the observation sheet and the student's conceptual mastery test. The results showed that the teacher's action in the first cycle was 68% in the sufficient category, in the second cycle it was 81% in the good category. Student activity in the first cycle was 69% which was a sufficient category and the second cycle got 84% which was a good category. The results of the student's concept mastery test in the first cycle obtained an average value of 64.13 with classical completeness of 51.72%. In the second cycle the average student mastery of concepts was 70.86 with the percentage of classical student completeness of 93.10%. Berdasarkan hasil peneltian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran SETS dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas IX B MTS Negeri 1 Kuantan Singingi.
