The result of vBL in the 400-450nm range has been reported in a number of studies as it has been effective as a topical treatment for eczema and psoriasis and is assumed to help inhibit the immune response [1-3]. Studies have also shown improvement in facial acne when exposed to LED emissions at 414nm [4,5]. A combination of red and blue light exposure is used in clinical dermatological treatments [6,7]. Creators such as Philips are currently developing devices and technologies that emit a blue visible spectrum for use in the treatment of skin diseases [8-10]. The presence of blue light has also been reported in a number of studies that have been effective in killing bacteria associated with periodontal disease, such as Pg and Aa [11-13] Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, is a group of inflammatory conditions that affect the tissues surrounding the teeth [14]. The disease start as acute tenderness of the gum tissue and untreated cases can develop to form dental pockets, and finally tooth death [14]. Wide group of microorganisms have been associated with periodontal disease, out of which Pg and Aa.
