The history of wound suturing reflects that of surgery itself. Wound treatment includes the technique of suturing as well as suturing materials. Of the above mentioned two, wound suturing plays a prominent role. Though the technique of suturing to close the dead space, to support and strengthen wounds until healing increases the tensile strength, to approximate skin edges for an aesthetically pleasing and functional result, and to minimize the risks of bleeding and infection, have remained the same. 50 patients (25 in each group) undergoing clean elective surgery with no focus of infection on the body admitted in the department of general surgery. This was a comparative study in which patients were studied in two groups. The mean cosmesis score at the end of one month was 5.92 for the adhesive glue group and 5.68 for the skin suturing group. Compared to the 7 day scores the difference between the two groups is further widened and infers a cosmetically better outcome for the adhesive glue group.
