Histologically, it is an undifferentiated carcinoma accompanied by a prominent reactive lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate. We report a case of anewly found lymphoepithelial carcinoma in the retropharynx of a patient who had been diagnosed and treated as nasopharyngeal carcinoma with multiple metastasis; the case could not be ruled out as a recurrence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma according to recent World Health Organization pathology guideline.
