The randomised exploratory trial of the Kids, Adults Together (KAT) programme found that it would not be appropriate to proceed to a full effectiveness trial of KAT. Although the intervention was acceptable to schools and pupils, and had good parent/carer participation levels, there were uncertainties regarding the potential effects of the programme, as well as programme funding, availability of suitable outcome measures and feasibility of long-term follow-up.
