This study focuses attention on 2 (two) issues, namely: (1) How is the effectiveness of the Police function in tackling criminal acts of persecution in the Mattiro Bulu Police Station in Pinrang District, and (2) What factors affect the function of the Police in tackling criminal acts of persecution in the Polsek Mattiro Bulu Pinrang Regency. The type of research used is empirical (Nondoctrinal) legal research in the form oZf legal research that is associated with applicable legal and regulatory aspects and is then linked to reality, facts or reality that occur within the community in the study area.The conclusions of the study are (1) Implementation of the effectiveness of the police function in triumphing the occurrence of criminal acts of persecution in the Mattiro Bulu District of Pinrang District, less effective, (2) Factors influencing the effectiveness of the police function in tackling the occurrence of criminal acts of persecution in the District Mattiro Bulu District Pinrang, namely factors of legal substance, legal structure, legal culture, legal awareness of the community and facilities / infrastructure.Recommendation; (1) Legal counseling for residents of the Mattiro Bulu community of Pinrang Regency related to the Criminal Code in general and specifically regarding criminal acts of persecution. (2). In order to improve the quality and quantity of law enforcement officers, in this case the police at the Mattiro Bulu District Police, Pinrang Regency. (3). In order to improve facilities and infrastructure as a supporting factor for the Mattiro Bulu Police Station in Pinrang Regency, law enforcement officers, in this case the police, can carry out their functions optimally and professionally.
