This study aims to determine and analyze the legal consequences arising in loan agreements without collateral in the event of default, and to find out and analyze the legal protection of debtors without collateral related to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection. This research is a normative juridical research method, that is the research conducted refers to the legal norms contained in the laws and regulations as well as the norms that apply in the community or also concerning customs that apply in the community. In normative legal research that fully uses secondary data, the preparation of tentative theoretical frameworks is abandoned.Research results obtained that the consumer protection law regarding the provisions contained in article 4c of Law No. 8 of 1999, in which consumers have the right to information that is true, clear, and honest about the condition and guarantee of goods and / or services. This is usually violated by business actors and added to because of low consumer understanding and a higher position of business actors. This is one example of many things that harm the debtor as a consumer.Continuous efforts are needed to disseminate Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection. Likewise in the case of dispute resolution, the socialization of the existence of a body that protects consumers also needs to be intensified widely to the public so that people can know their rights and obligations. Hopefully the bank can be more transparent in providing information related to the application for making KTA (Unsecured Credit) so that customers as consumers can find out what are the weaknesses and strengths of the KTA agreement without the need to feel cheated and burdened in exercising their rights and his obligations as a debtor.
