The article deals with the peculiarities of adaptation of teaching material in order to form students’ social-cultural competence in foreign language learning process. Tasks of German language textbooks aimed to the formation of socialcultural competence have been analyzed; ways of the modifications of those exercises have been taken into consideration. General recommendations for the teachers considering possible adaptation of the tasks have been given.
