This article analyses the current therapeutic position of hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation (PHT) after observing the clinical impact of new drugs, changes in transplant practice and the possible effects of modern cellular immunotherapy on the number of transplants made. In other words, information about the past, present and future of the hematopoietic progenitor transplant practice. In spite of recent therapeutic advances an increase in transplant figures can be detected. The reasons of this trend is studied. Palabras clave:
