The fishery bottom trawling for diverse fishes, it has a considerable importance on the north coast, presenting a great diversity of caught species, with a great notoriety for the Scianidae Family. Among these species, stands-out the pescada-go Macrodon ancylodon, responsible for 64% of all biomass caught in this fishery, thus characterized as the aim specie. Approximately 77.4% of the caught production is harvested, while 22.6% is rejected, usually presente the presence of individual juveniles or because of low or valueless, among these discarded species are the baiacu Colomessus psitacus, arraia Dasyatis guttata and the peixe espada Trichiurus lepturus. The average caught production by monitoring periods was 24 t, with an average effort of 2.11 hours and CPUE with growth trend over the periods. The practice of this fishery is concentrated in a specific area of the Amazonian continental shelf, in this area a capture center was identified, where the effort occurs with greater constancy and about 88% of the production comes from the same, however there are the presence of peripheral points of effort, but they don´t differ in relation to the caught composition, admitting that they are only accessory points of this fishing modality.Keywords: industrial fishing, production, estuary, exploitation, rejection.
