The formation and accumulation of organic matter is one of the links in the general circulation of matter and energy in a reservoir, which determines its bioproductivity. The amount of organic matter accumulated in the reservoir depends on the ratio of production and destruction processes. With a decrease in the efficiency of utilization of organic matter, the pasture cycle of the trophic chain changes to a detrital one, which leads to the accumulation of detritus in the ecosystem and an increase in the trophicity of the reservoir. The territory of the south of Western Siberia is one of the lacustrine regions of Russia; there are more than 20 000 lakes, which differ in morphometry, hydrological and hydrochemical regimes, the nature of overgrowth and productivity of aquatic phytocenoses. The ratio of the elements of the water and heat balance, which determines the level, hydrochemical and ice regimes and other features of the lakes of the region, strictly obey the geographic zonality (Shnitnikov, 1957).
