In this paper, a four-variable refined plate theory (HSDT4) and Navier solution are used to analyze the free vibration characteristics of functionally graded carbon nanotube reinforced laminated composite plates integrated with piezoelectric. Equations of motion are derived by using both the Maxwell's equation and Hamilton's principle. Comparison studies have been carried out to verify accuracy of present model. New parametric studies regarding the influence of volume fraction of CNTs, distribution type of CNTs, number of layers, CNT fiber orientation and piezoelectric layer‘s thickness on the natural frequency are performed in detail with two types of electrical boundary conditions, namely, closed circuit and opened circuit.
