There are some issues to be resolved in the electro-optical properties of polymer-stabilized BP LC (PSBP LC). Recently, the improvement of electro-optical properties by using planar alignment film has been reported. However, the effect of alignment films on the electro-optical properties of PSBP LC has not been clearly presented yet. In this study, we will discuss the effect of planar alignment film, homeotropic alignment film and blended alignment films on the electro-optical properties of PSBP LC from the viewpoint of the surface energy. 1. 概要 高分子安定化ブルー相[1]は、電気光学特性におけるヒステリシス、駆動電圧が高いといった問題点が ある[2-3]。近年、ガラス基板表面に配向膜を塗布したセルでは電気光学特性が改善するという報告がな されている。しかし、水平配向膜を使った報告[4-6]は多くされているが、垂直配向膜やブレンド配向膜 を用いた際の影響については検討されていない。そこで、本研究では水平配向膜、垂直配向膜及びブ レンド配向膜を用いた際の、電気光学特性について配向膜の表面エネルギーの観点から検討を行う。
